The Compassionate Shepherd

There are some days when you are exhausted and simply want to relax. However, should sudden needs arise, you may not always get the opportunity. In the next section of Mark's gospel, we are presented with another familiar story - the feeding of the 5000.

As we read through this section, we discover Jesus as a faithful and compassionate shepherd who gives up his own rights in order to lead and feed lost and needy "sheep". Certainly, there is a call for us to mimic His sacrifice, but the more important response is that we would merely see and be satisfied with the man Himself, the man who we call Jesus Christ.
