What We Teach

(Secondary Theological and Practical Distinctives)

Regarding Baptism...

We affirm that baptism is an ordinance given by Jesus Christ to the church, which is to be administered to those who repent and believe the gospel.
Baptism is a public declaration of faith, symbolizing union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Only those who are old enough and understanding enough to personally profess faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior are proper candidates for baptism.
Scripture References: Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:38–41; Romans 6:3–4; Colossians 2:12

Regarding Salvation...

We hold to the historic doctrines of grace, which emphasize the sovereignty of God in salvation.
Humanity is spiritually dead in sin and unable to save itself.
Therefore, salvation is ultimately the work of God—from election to regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.
He saves and sustains us by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Scripture References: Ephesians 1:3–14; Ephesians 2:1–10; John 6:37–44; Romans 8:28–30; Titus 3:5

Regarding the Roles of Men and Women...

We teach that men and women are equal in dignity, value, and worth as image-bearers of God, yet designed for distinct and complementary roles in the home and the church.
While all believers, regardless of gender, are called to serve together in unity for the glory of Christ, Scripture reserves the office of elder/pastor for qualified men.
At the same time, we joyfully recognize and encourage the vital ministry of women in a multitude of areas.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:18–24; 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Timothy 2:12–14; Ephesians 5:22–33

Regarding Spiritual Gifts (the Gifts of the Holy Spirit)...

We believe that none of the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in the New Testament have ceased, but continue to operate within the church today according to God’s sovereign will.
These gifts are to be embraced and exercised in an orderly, biblical manner for the building up of the church and the mission of the gospel.
Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 12–14; Romans 12:4–8; 1 Thessalonians 5:19–21; Acts 2:17–18

Regarding the Future Return of Jesus Christ...

We teach that the kingdom of God has been inaugurated through the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, yet awaits its final consummation at His return.
In this "already and not yet" framework, believers experience the firstfruits of God’s promises while anticipating their complete fulfillment in the new creation.
We specifically reject the concept of a pre-tribulation rapture, affirming that Christ will return one time to judge and consummate all things in His timing.
Scripture References: Matthew 12:28; Luke 17:20–21; Acts 2:16–21; 1 Corinthians 15:20–28; Revelation 21:1–5; 2 Thessalonians 2:1–8

Regarding Marriage and Family...

We affirm the historic Christian understanding of marriage as a sacred covenant between one biological male and one biological female, established by God for lifelong faithfulness, mutual love, and unity.

We believe marriage reflects God’s design and points us to Christ’s faithful love for His Church.

We seek to uphold these convictions with truth, grace, humility, and compassion toward all people.
