“Back to Church Sunday,” part of a national movement of churches across America, will be held at South Bay Bible Church, 578 Montauk Highway, East Moriches on Sunday, September 15, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a catered lunch served after the service. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Since it started as a call to action and invitation for the church in 2009, the National Back to Church Sunday movement marks its twelfth year and continues to gain momentum. More than 5 million Christ followers have participated through 30,000 churches! It is a day focused on uniting the church to equip and empower members to be inviters. Eight out of ten people say they are open to visiting church if invited—they are just waiting for an invitation.

For Back to Church Sunday, South Bay Bible Church will have a special service featuring a new teaching series – The Faithful Church: How to Be the Church According to First Timothy. What is the unique purpose of the local church? How should it operate? What good does it serve for the members and the larger community outside of the four walls? Too many times, we make our own assumptions to answer those questions, but the real answers can be discovered in the book of First Timothy.

In addition to a relevant message applicable to everyday life, you’ll enjoy uplifting music, and your kids under five are welcome in our nursery. Older children can attend Kid’s Club, a fun, interactive Bible learning experience.

“Back to Church Sunday is a terrific time to try church again, and it’s for the whole family,” says Matt Horne, pastor. “There has never been a better time to get plugged in to a church that offers a place to belong, opportunities to serve the community, and the chance to grow spiritually.”

Back to Church Sunday takes place rain or shine.
